Ready or not, the holidays are coming, and that means Boulder is blossoming with fun and festivities. Whether you’re looking for a midafternoon escape or a night on the town, November knows how to make a statement. Here’s what you can look forward to:
Boulder Symphony Veteran’s Day Concert
The Boulder Symphony Veteran’s Day Concert takes place on November 8 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Salute the military with a medley of melodies honoring the courage and sacrifice of servicemen and women. The program features Peter Boyer’s Rhapsody in Red, White, & Blue (performed by pianist Jeffrey Biegel), along with patriotic favorites and special recognition of each military branch. Brigadier General Kristin E. Goodwin, USAF (Ret), is set to emcee.
Pearl Street Walking Tours
Pearl Street Walking Tours offer a great opportunity to learn Pearl Street's history and imagine what it looked like more than a hundred years ago (spoiler alert: it was originally a supply town for gold miners). Learn about the historic buildings, memorable events, and ongoing preservation efforts. Tickets are $10 (admission is free for Historic Boulder members). These tours take place every third Thursday in summer and fall, and November 19th is the last one until next July.
Samantha Bee: How to Survive Menopause
Combine hot flashes with a round of hot toddies! Samantha Bee is bringing her comedy tour to the Boulder Theater Reserved on the evening of November 20. Known for her sharp wit, Bee grew up in Canada and began her career in an all-female sketch comedy troupe, The Atomic Fireballs. She rose to fame on The Daily Show and holds the record for being its longest-serving regular.
Light Up the Holidays
Light Up the Holidays is an annual event that celebrates Downtown Boulder’s unofficial holiday kickoff. On November 22, it starts with a downtown cookie crawl (11:00 am to 2:00 pm), followed by a Switch on the Holidays celebration (2:00 pm to 7:00 pm). If you can’t make it, don’t worry; the lights stay on throughout the holiday season, so there’s plenty of time to stroll through this winter wonderland.
Next Stop Comedy
On November 25, Avery Brewery is mixing beer with belly laughs. It’s hosting Next Stop Comedy, featuring a fresh lineup, top-tier talent, and high-energy performances in a local, intimate setting. Doors open at 6:00 pm (the show starts at 6:30). You can buy tickets at the door, but shows often sell out, so buy ahead of time to guarantee a seat.
