In fact, you could travel around Boulder County just on these trails without ever needing to use the highway.
Eaton Park and Gunbarrel Commons Park are great locations for a picnic or a game of fetch with the pup. Eaton Park even offers a dirt single-track for mountain bike enthusiasts.
The Boulder Reservoir gives coastal transplants something easily missed out west — access to water. Popular recreation activities at the reservoir include boating, swimming, sun bathing, water skiing, fishing, picnicking, walking, running, cycling and wildlife viewing. And just steps away from the Habitat Apartments, Twin Lakes Open Space offers a more tranquil aquatic environment. Get out after work for a quick jog around the lake, or teach the kids to fish in these still waters. This hidden gem is one of our favorite Gunbarrel locations to catch a famous Colorado sunset over Boulder’s Flatiron Mountains. If a mid-afternoon thunderstorm threatens your daily workout, pop into Anytime Fitness for a fully-equipped workout, and then soothe your muscles at Niwot Massage.
Boulder’s world-class terrain is just a short drive away. Solitude and harmony with nature are readily available just over the next ridgeline and residents need not plan a lengthy excursion for an afternoon of playtime in the mountains. The quaint mountain towns of Gold Hill and Nederland are a short drive away and transport visitors back in time to Colorado’s mining days.
